Long time no post. Shall I turn this thing into a food blog WITHOUT ads and boring story attached? Here goes:
INGREDIENTS
2 to 3 very ripe bananas, peeled
1/3 cup melted butter
1 teaspoon baking soda
Pinch of salt
1/4 cup sugar (if that)
1 large egg, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour, part WW
Walnuts, dried fruit
1 Preheat the oven to 350°F and butter a 4x8-inch loaf pan.
2 In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until completely smooth. Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
3 Mix in the baking soda and salt. Stir in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract. Mix in the flour. Mix in the walnuts; you can toast them first. Throw in some chopped dried fruit.
4 Pour the batter into prepared loaf pan. Bake for 50 minutes to 1 hour at 350°F, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
5 Remove from oven and let cool in the pan for a few minutes. Then remove the banana bread from the pan and let cool completely before serving.
Friend advises trying a GF version with something from "Bob's Mills."

Nothing whimsical to report
Taking a break from posting, until whimsical spirit arises anew, across the country.
At any rate, here I am in high school era, with a few folks, including racer Roger Ward and Eartha Kitt.

Speed demons
I would like to hit the Washington DC museums at some point, for 3 or 4 days. In a rapid change of thought process, I bring up that my friend H. is joining me in Indiana April 6--it's about a 7-hour drive from Asheville if she steps on it, which she shall, because underneath that calm strong yoga exterior there's a speed demon driver. I almost bought her a gift certificate to take a car around Sears Points Raceway. I can't remember why we decided against it. The goal this race will be to become speed demons in sorting through 60 years of goodies in the family manse.

Professional Photography
Yes, there are serious things going on in the world. Yes, I find them hard to digest. In the meantime, I thought I might need a "professional photo" of myself to have on hand, you know, just in case.(My staff photo at work is scary.) So I searched on "glamour shots." This was way up in the list.

It's Idiom Time
My favorite subreddit, PhotoshopBattles, has a contest this week to literally interpret an idiom. I'm voting for Curiosity Killed the Cat.
